Brain Dump is a result of an ELO (Extended Learning Opportunity) that I've decided to take at my high school.
I've always loved being creative, using vibrant colors and organic lines to create original pieces and using my camera to capture moments. At first, I thought of using my ELO to create another credit for me to learn more about graphic design and digital art, something I've been interested in since about eighth grade. Kel Lauren, an incredible graphic designer, who I've been watching on YouTube for years, has inspired me to take an online graphic design class through VLACS. Although the class was fun and the teacher taught me more than I ever thought I'd know, I soon learned that I couldn't strictly live off of graphic design unless I move to the west coast (and although that sounds like fun, it also sounds incredibly expensive), and that's where Brain Dump was introduced.
I've always loved reading the big stories and the police logs in the local newspaper and every morning, I reach for my phone and read some articles on Apple News. Being informed about local, national, and international news is something I am passionate about. I thought about asking an editor of the Ledger Transcript about writing some articles about the Conant cross country team, however, blogging is something I've been interested in for a while, so I've decided to go with that. I plan on making infographics for some posts (graphic design) and going out and taking photos of the local area (photography) for others. Most of my posts will be about current day events and politics.
I'm excited to begin Brain Dump and (hopefully!) continue this blog after high school.
